The A-Team

“Still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers for iron. If you have a problem...if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire.......... the A-Team!”

Four completely different personalities come together to make up the A-team: Team leader- Hannibal, the pretty boy- Face, the mussel- B.A. Baracus, and the crazy awesome pilot- Murdock. This alpha team is the best at what they do, because there is no plan B.

This movie was hilarious as well as action packed. Set up during a very important mission, the A-team is on the verge to clear their names. The A-team keeps things light and funny as they are surrounded with serious false allegations. In the process of trying to clear their names, an old flame reignites. Sparks fly once again, and we get to witness the sexy couple of Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel’s characters fall for each other for a second time around. Unfortunately with some though obstacles in the way, this does not make it easy for the A-team to succeed. With a few surprises, twist, and betrayals, the movie is sure bound to keep you on your toes.

One quote I loved from Liam Neeson’s character, Hannibal, was, “Give me a minute, I’m good. Give me an hour, I am great. Give me six months...I’m unbeatable.” That quote described the A-team perfectly. With many cool explosions, smart tactics, and despicable deception, the A-team rises to the challenge to achieve success. The A-Team was an excellent action movie with plenty of combat and enough comedy. The A-Team gets an overall four and a half stars.

Alejandro- Lady Gaga

As a little monster myself I feel my oppinions are a bit bias, therefore I will love to hear my readers thoughts. Please tell me what you think of the Mama Monster's Alejandro video. Is it too dark, creepy, raunchy, or just plain different? What do you think about it compared to her other videos? And lastly what do you think about Lady Gaga as an artist? Please comment!

Rachel Getting Married

From the very beginning of Rachel Getting Married, we are immediately sucked into the bitter world of Kym Buchman watching her sister get married and not even knowing what happened in her past.

Once the plot starts to unfold, there is more of an understanding of Kym’s bitter judgmental behavior. She is a recovering addict who walks around this wedding weekend feeling the love and support for her sister, Rachel, but knows everyone is keeping a watchful eye on her as well.

Even though the movie is shot in a documentary/reality style, it is clear that Kym is the protagonist because we get to see her re/actions in the private moments that no one else sees. With her cynical behavior and smartass jokes up front, Kym is hiding a pain underneath that no one seems to notice. She always seems to be hiding some kind of sadness behind her eyes when no one is looking.

Trying to be normal and not fit in but not stand out, Kym walks around with the blame from her baby brother’s death on her mind as well as the family's mind. This complicated family has all their problems surface once again during Rachel’s wedding weekend. Past problems are brought up, new troubles unfold, and gives birth to an incredibly drama filled of wedding events.

This monotone drama gets two and a half stars: four for the acting and one in a half for the plot line. Rachel Getting Married is a deep story full of family drama and would only be recommended to those who want to see some serious Anne Hathaway acting but not too much of an interesting plot line.

Funny People

There is a reason the movie Funny People took me so long to get through...it lacked motivation. Supposedly the movie was from the creators of the 40 year old virgin and Knocked Up but it was a dramatic movie forced to be funny. Although I usually would trust Judd Apatow but this movie was too depressing. The movie had the correct title but the subject matter did not match. I would usually pay to watch Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, or Jonah Hill movie because these are all really funny people but the whole dying comedian thing was too heavy.

Adam Sandler’s character, George Simmons, was a dying comedian, literally. He was lonely, grouchy, & missed out on life. He was a rude Debby downer whose character never made me laugh.

Seth Rogen was a suck up comedian who wanted to get ahead in his career but he was oddly a genuinely good guy. We as viewers usually see Rogen in some dumb, hilarious, cocky role but he played the grounded character in this movie.

Funny People reminded me a lot of the movie Smart People....made with a serious plot line and a little comedy thrown on top. In both films the drama was too melodramatic and the comedy was not enough. I did not even have any laugh out loud moments; I was able to watch this movie with a straight face in general but I cracked a smile a few times. Unless you are a die-hard fan of any of these actors, the movie is not worth watching. This movie gets a whopping two stars and I would not recommend it if you are looking for a laugh.
