Grey's Anatomy (info)

George O'Malley and Izzie Stevens

Attention! All Grey’s Anatomy fans.....spoiler alert. According to E! and other sources, it is clear that T.R. Knight (TK) and Katherine Heigl are leaving the show.

TK is leaving a 14million dollar contract to return to Broadway. Good for him, if that is what he really wants. He claims working on the set for seasons four and five has been a bit of a struggle. Conflicts like not having a decent line of communication with the producer. He definitely did not like the direction his character, George O’Malley, was going. “Knight returned to work on season 4, but the actor struggled with the story line in which George cheated on his wife Callie (Sara Ramirez) with Izzie (Katherine Heigl). And once George went MIA from the beginning of season 5, the star came to the conclusion that his character had expired” (Entertainment Weekly). Not only that, but why was George the only intern out of his friend to get held back? Unfortunately, George was slowly fading away: “This fall, Knight was surprised to see his character George O'Malley all but vanish from the show -- for the first nine episodes of season 5, he appeared on screen a total of only 48 minutes, compared to 114 for Sandra Oh's Christina” (Entertainment Weekly). TK is walking away from 14 million dollars. Sorry, I had to say that again for the sake of all that money going to waste and the even bigger issue of missing George. He is returning to the place he was first discovered to be a Grey’s star. If TK is happy I will get over my grief and be happy with him. TK knows what he is doing and his last words in the interview are, “There are a lot of people who would like to be in my position. But in the end, I need to be fulfilled in my work.” He has spoken. Now to get a glimpse of TK, catch him in his newest role on Broadway in Lend Me a Tenor, set to premiere in February 2010.

On a slightly hotter note, Katherine Heigl....season sixth? At the end nobody was sure if George and Izzie were both dead or in that in-between stage. Word on the street is that Heigl has been rumored to leave the show for almost a year. I heard things from she wants a movie career or she want to do more. I even heard she was whining about Izzie not having a bigger story line. Well are you happy now? Izzie and George completely stole the spot light from Meredith and Derrick. Honestly, the show is kind of called, Grey’s Anatomy. Who really knows what the truth is besides Heigl and Shonda Rhimes. Fact is she has shot a few episodes of season six. I have no clue what is going to happen for the rest of the season. The new word on the street is she has renegotiated her contract and is not leaving the show. There is hope for Izzie.

Update info on Izzie Stevens: She has done five episodes but then plans to take a break. I heard they want to fire her character or something in that nature to temporarily relieve her from the show.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a little less than four weeks to prepare ourselves for the comeback of Grey’s Anatomy. Technically we have 27 days. Everyone make sure you tune in September 24, Thursday night at 9/8c for the season six (2hour) premiere night of Grey’s Anatomy.

BACK ON!!!

Reggie Bush & Kim Kardashian

This is dedicated to a special friend in Toledo, Ohio.

Who can honestly say they are not happy the dynamic duo is back together. I know I am ecstatic. This was one of the few Hollywood couple I was rooting for; I really thought they were going to make it. My heart shattered when I heard the horrible news that they were finished. Now Bush and Tush or as Kim K calls them Kush, is officially back together! Apparently, they reunited at a charity fashion event. Both came single and left as a pair. The two were spotted having dinner Monday night and looks like the flames are still there. This hot duo is going to give it one more try. Who does not love them as a couple? They are cute with a capital K. This time, schedules have been altered to make more Kush time. Hopefully, this time around the track they can make it to the altar (fingers crossed).

The Knowing

Is knowledge always power? I think Nicolas Cage’s character would disagree. His character had a piece of paper that had every catastrophe event listed under the date, with how many died or will die, and latitude and longitude. There was absolutely nothing John (Nick Cage) could do. Death is the one thing on this earth that will conquer all. It is the final destination for all living things. So, how can knowledge be power if you cannot prevent something bad from happening or at least delay the forcefulness of death. Knowledge is only power in the right situation because it is both a blessing and a curse.

The Knowing is a good movie as well as very thought provoking. It makes you think about the end of the earth (Not the end of time). Like, what happens when the earth dies or is destroyed? If you ever found a note predicting the end of life and so far everything has been accurate, would you believe it? For some people who do not have much to believe in, this movie puts a lot on the mind.

One thing that struck me as questionable were the people from another world. In the end, it turned out that their intentions were good but that did not stop my uneasy feelings towards them. They first came on as stalker-ish and did not stop until they got what they came for. Even though the people from another world were there to take the chosen people to their home in order to repopulate the earth, I still held onto my suspicions. These men had a creepy vibe to them the entire movie. Honestly, if people are of pure good intentions, they are not supposed to come off as creepy or skeptical. Even in the end of the movie, I still had doubts about their motives. I almost feel as if they were lying and it will be revealed in a sequel. That is only my own suspicion.

Another factor was when the people came down from another world; the special effects were truly out of this world. To ever witness something that remarkable would be such a great phenomenon. The only thing that can top extra terrestrial life coming to earth is when Jesus has his second coming.

Overall, this movie gets a solid four stars: special effects, excellent story line, and most of all a powerful message. Nicolas Cage definitely picked a great movie to sign onto. There are some surprise elements and better yet, the movie is anything but predictable. For those who enjoy sci-fi and/or futuristic stuff, I strongly recommend this movie.

The Seven Deadly Sins

If a murderer kills people who have committed crimes against the rest of the world, then what kind of deed has he committed? Should a sinner judge, let alone punish another sinner. The bible says, “He without sin cast the first stone,” but I am no one to judge. This is one of many thoughts that occurred to me while watching Seven (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman). The murderous masterpiece he creates really is mind boggling. Are we supposed to pity the victims of the seven deadly sins anymore than we would pity the people of Sodom and Gomorrah? One murderer does not think so. The John Doe murderer believes he was put on this earth to take out people who are living testaments to the seven deadly sins. What do you think? Another big question is why would he want to turn himself in before the last two murders are found? You do not realize until it actually happens....Murderer John Doe knows exactly what he is saying. He has this whole murderous masterpiece of the seven deadly sins planned to a tee... and everything works out perfectly, to John Doe’s liking.

For some strange reason, I knew exactly who the sixth victim was going to be to end the movie in a bang. I did not want to be right but unfortunately, I was right. All he could talk about was how big this was going to be; then I thought, who was missing from the movie and what character has not been seen in a good minute. And I knew it was her.

If you really think about it, we are all demonstrators of the seven deadly sins. In this world, no one is safe. Who is next to be punished for their sins?

Where are the Smart People?

I hate watching movies about boring, plain, or ordinary people. I can tell my movie choice is getting more particular these days. I am in to movies that do not take too long picking up the plot because if they start off really slow and do not pick up quick, then I do not hesitate to turn it off and find the next best thing to watch. Movies like Smart People, Lars and the Real Girl, and even Little Miss Sunshine. Movies that take such a long time to catch on ,surprisingly, get such good reviews. Their plots are slow and/or boring and in the end, they end up collecting good reviews and/ or Oscars. As a media critic, movie buff, and person with an opinion of the general population I feel obligation to be well rounded in my movie selection. Every movie has a fair chance in the beginning but after the first five minutes is where I start taking off points. Unfortunately, there are some movies I cannot take.

Right now I am watching Smart People and this plot is not picking up at all. It is ashamed that I finished this review before I finished the movie, and I would not change a thing I pre-wrote. I have seen all these actors and previous work and love almost everything they do. This is the movie that planted the “almost” in my statement. Actors like Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Ellen Page have stunning résumés in my opinion but this movie puts a dent in it. This is the kind of movie that goes straight to DVD and no one ever hears of it. Quaid and SPJ’s characters do not have chemistry. The two characters together as a couple are uncomfortable to watch. Two real people like that will very rarely end up together. This movie is a fictitious dream that someone had. Not only does it have an awkward couple but it has a cast of people whose characters do not mesh. Every character seems like they are suppose to be from different movies.

Hate to be harsh, but this movie was a complete waste of my time. I could get into Napoleon Dynamite or Juno, but not this movie. At least I have seen it so that I may warn other people. This movie may spin off as cute to other people on some dull level but it is ordinary, uneventful, and lacks fascination. I can really use a Steven Spielberg or Jerry Bruckheimer movie about now....no, two hours ago.
