Recent Hollywood Gossip- June 2009

So, it is no surprise that they are my first big Hollywood gossip subject. They are on the covers of every magazine this week. Yes, I did read every single one. I am at the point in my career where I can clearly tell what is “so true” and “so false.”

For example, Brangelina breaking up... so false. BTW.... tabloids need to leave Jennifer Aniston alone because she is not getting married at Oprah's, she is not pregnant, and she is not secretly hooking up with Brad. These tabloids get so out of control these days. I mean, how could they really know what is going on unless they were a personal friend or the person themselves. I could totally stand on the side of the street and completely lie about being a friend of “whomever” and tell them a complete lie. Next thing you know, this juicy little piece of false gossip is front page of one of the most read magazines: “Tabloid Star magazine touts on its June 22 cover that the exes -- who split in 2005 -- had an "intimate 1 a.m. rendezvous." The magazine quotes an unnamed limo driver who says Aniston "breathlessly" called Pitt to say "I'm here!" The magazine claims they spent two hours together at the hotel's 18th floor Private Roof Club and Garden and were “really careful not to be spotted.” (http://www.usmagazine.com/news/spokesperson-brad-pitt-jennifer-aniston-meetup-not-true-2009116) All I am trying to say is I am tired of tabloids printing stuff we know is “so false.”

Now to get back on topic....Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. I have discussed this topic with several people and I find the E! Channel highly reliable. I truly believe Rob and Kristen have feelings for each other even though she is still with her boyfriend Michael Angarano. She may claim she is not dating him, they may ignore cameras, and they may deny they are dating but they cannot deny their chemistry and connection. We all went through this about a year ago with Chris Brown and Rihanna but I pray to Jesus it does not end up the same. Everyone knows you start as friends, and then you both feel that connection as you begin scooting toward each other more. Eventually, your friendship comes to a new level as a real relationship. Plus, they have been caught kissing off camera....COME ON! What is their excuse for that one...huh? Kristen and Rob have off the hook chemistry and I always said from the moment that I first saw the movie that they would make a great couple. Who knows, maybe they will come out one day and say they are dating. Until then.... they are one cute onscreen couple.

Recently Watched Movies

Someone told me I need to be productive with my work. So as many movies I watch I should write a review of them. So these are movies I have watched recently.

THELMA & LOUISE- No wonder this movie has been talked about for years. Their action packed adventure will last a lifetime. Thelma and Louise truly bring meaning to the phrase best friends forever. If only the world was filled with people who will have our backs like that all the time: through thick and thin. Funny thing is you get so into the movie you walk away with a little country accent and wanting to act like a bad ass. Thelma and Louise demonstrate what a real friendship is and they can teach us a thing or two. Once you see the movie, you cannot help but grow attached to it. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon do an excellent job portraying two confined women who literally and metaphorically let their hair down. It is perfectly clear why this movie had so many awards and nominations. The movie was so good; the ending brought a tear to my eye.

3:10 to YUMA- So far the best real western movie I have seen yet. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe playing opposites make a great unintentional team. It was also surprising but nice to see some familiar faces: Luke Wilson and long time no see Ben Foster. Two people I usually see in comedies, but yet, here they are in a western action. Honestly, it did take me a minute to recognize Ben Foster but I eventually caught on within the first five minutes. Another thing was Christian Bale’s fake leg. I completely forgot his character lost his leg until the end because he was jumping around like he was Batman again. I mean in beginning he is having trouble walking (limping a lot) then towards the ends he is hopping off of roof tops and dodging bullets. I loved Russell Crowe’s character as a bad guy but he had a good soul. I cracked up during the part when he confessed to being a Yuma prisoner...twice. Overall it was a good action movie.

THE DUCHESS- I expected this movie to have some plot line about a situation in their time period which I could care less for but instead it was actually something I could connect with. For me, this movie was not the all about the plot. The movie was character driven and had a powerful story to tell. There is always two sides to a story and this is the Duchess story much like The Queen. Throughout the movie I was so drawn to her almost as if we had a connection. I know we are two clearly different people from two clearly different worlds but my heart went out to her and all that she struggled through during her life. She was a woman of class and stature and always did what she had to do. She lived the lifestyle she lived because it was the right thing to do and not what she wanted to do. It is not her fault her husband was a selfish pig. He basically kept her in a prison though most people envied her so much; they had no idea how empty she was inside for the most part. Her children were the only piece of life she had to hold on to, and it still did not fill the void of love from a companion. Having the life sucked out of her, she was still an extraordinary woman and I side with her 100%; I would not have done a thing differently in her shoes. Her story is a phenomenal story and I am glad it was told.
