Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is just another Disney film remade by the wonderful Tim Burton. Most people do like his twisted spin on stories, myself included, and this is another success. It was hard to put into word because Alice in Wonderland is something one needs to see for them self in order to understand; I will do my best to give an insightful review.
The plot takes into action when a girl named Alice falls into a hole that leads to a place called Wonderland. This dream like place is no stranger to Alice for she believes it is her dream which in fact it is a real place to where she has been before.

While convinced Alice is dreaming she runs into characters like Tweedledee, Tweedledum, blue caterpillar, and famous the Mad Hatter. Alice does not realize she has been to Wonderland before or realizes her destiny.

Once in deep into Wonderland, we come across the ever so loved Queen of Hearts. Helena Bonham Carter does an excellent job of portraying a (ironically) heartless, comical, high-maintenance queen. This charming big headed queen was the film’s main source of comic relief. Her mood swings, demanding attitude, and belittling of people is depicted in a hilarious fashion.

Burton’s main man/ fan favorite, Johnny Depp was such an ease to watch. His effortless interpretation of the Mad Hatter was the best I have ever seen. I absolutely love Johnny Depp in every character he has played because he leaves himself out of the equation and puts 100% of the character out there.

Kudos to Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp, and our breakout star, Mia Wasikowska. This movie gets three and a half stars for entertainment, artwork, and story line but lacks in the “wow” category. The 3-D was a bonus for the costumes and make-up because it brought everything to life. I truly enjoyed such amusing film; it is something to watch when you want to get lost in someone else thoughts. The adventure film was exactly what I expected: it did not disappoint nor exceed. I applaud the cast and crew for creating an accurate yet twisted adventure for Alice in Wonderland.
