ADELE

Recently released 'Skyfall' for the new James Bond movie but famously known for 'Rolling in the Deep' and 'Set Fire to the Rain', Adele's music career embodies passion, action, and emotion in her words.

Born  Adele Laurie Blue Adkins in Tottenham London, UK 1988. She was 14 when she realized she wanted to be a musical artist. Being discovered on MySpace the Grammy winner signed with XL Recordings in 2006 and had her first debut single 'Hometown Glory' within a year. The 19 year old's single was quickly followed by her album '19' early 2008 writing about the complications of  love with songs like 'Daydreamer', 'Melt My Heart to Stone', and 'Chasing Pavements.' These songs spoke truth about being cheated on, not getting what you want, being in love, and not being loved back. For such a young woman, Adele sung lyrics with emotion that flowed like poetry directly to her listeners.

Having love for artist like Jill Scott, Billy Bragg, Peggy Lee, Jeff Buckley and The Cure, one singer seemed to sweep Adele off her feet. The most evident influential musician in Adele's music is 'At Last' singer Etta James. Adele has mentioned the R&B singer numerous times in interviews: "What a lady Etta James was. She was the ultimate original. Her voice was breath taking and her songs are reflections we all recognise in some way or another. Its an honour every time I hear her voice. " As the London singer-songwriter  continues to accredit Etta James career, Adele's music has done the same for many of her fans today.

Threatening her career for a brief moment, the 23 year old Brit had major medical problems with her voice in 2011. She suffered from a recurrent bleed from a benign polyp on her vocal cords (she was bleeding from a noncancerous mass on her vocal cords). Luckily after undergoing surgery later in November her voice was able to heal in time for her performance on the 2012 Grammys

At the age of 24 she has won countless awards including 12 Billboard Music Awards and six Grammys. Receiving album of the year and and song of the year Adele's '21' album was groundbreaking in her career. Connecting to fans (which she calls Daydreamers) through heartbreak and hurt, Adele barred her souls in words and lyrics about her break up from longtime ex-boyfriend. Words so powerful, raw, and true, listeners claimed her album got them through their own break ups. She has become such an inspiration icon to the singer-songwriters of tomorrow.

Though Adele has had several tragic detours throughout her life, they have not stopped her from being the delightful soulful artist she is today. Turning her sorrow into treasured gold, the British singer flourishes in life and her career. Mid October, Adele gave birth to a son; while overjoyed by motherhood and her current relationship, the new mom plans to make a much happier album soon in the future.
